Lego team building for companies

Pedro Diezma

Activity designed by Pedro Diezma, coach and head of team dynamics and training at Acuilae.

In this activity, we will show you a fun and effective way to do team building: using Lego® bricks! Our aim is simple: we want teams to work better together, think creatively and solve problems while having fun.

It is one of our team building activities in Madrid, at your offices or at the venue of your choice.

This workshop, which we call Lego® Team Building, is entertaining and also creates special moments and lasting memories. We use different activities to help each person step out of their comfort zone, in an environment where everyone takes part and learns together.

The idea is to strengthen collaboration, creativity and problem-solving in corporate teams. And all of this while they enjoy building with Lego bricks.

Opening Talk (Optional)

To begin (this is optional), we offer a 20-25 minute talk on how Lego® became an innovation giant after overcoming major financial difficulties and reinvented itself through innovative strategies, such as partnerships with famous franchises and expansion into new media. We will see how every small Lego brick can be a source of limitless ideas and how its motto about quality and imagination inspires us all to think further.

We will use LEGO's mottos to guide the activity. These mottos speak about the importance of quality and imagination, and the philosophy of inspiring through play.

Business innovation with Lego®:

At Acuilae, we take Lego team building a step further. We use Lego so that teams can visualise and redesign their work processes in a concrete and creative way. For example:

  • Innovation Project Model: Here, teams use Lego to build the stages and resources they need to carry out an innovative project. It is a three-dimensional way of looking at problems and finding solutions.
  • Future Scenario Analysis: Teams imagine and build possible futures for the company, taking new trends and technologies into account. This helps them think flexibly and proactively.

Featured activities:

Every workshop in our Lego® team building is designed to challenge and inspire. Here are three of our most popular activities:

- SkyHigh Sticks: Tallest Tower

Imagine the challenge of building the tallest possible tower with Lego, but you can only use chopsticks to move the pieces. This activity is a physical challenge and it also tests coordination and team strategy.

Do they play it safe with a solid base or gamble on something bolder? The clock is ticking and the competition is fierce, which adds excitement and makes us think about decision-making and calculated risks.

- Lego® Car Build

In this fun Lego team building activity, teams become automotive engineers with LEGO® bricks. The challenge is to design and build a racing car that looks good and works well for a final race. During this challenge, several skills are put to the test: creativity, problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.

While designing the car, teams must consider factors such as aerodynamics, stability and speed. To finish, there will be an exciting race where the cars compete against each other, adding a touch of friendly competition.

- Lego® Claim Building Challenge

The Lego Claim Building Challenge offers a highly symbolic and collaborative Lego team building experience. If the team or the event has a corporate tagline, it is split into letters that are shared out among the different teams. Each group is responsible for building its letter in Lego.

As the activity progresses, teams must coordinate, communicate and make joint decisions to make sure all the pieces fit together. The challenge ends when all the letters come together and the company's tagline is revealed in full, becoming a powerful visual metaphor for teamwork. This activity encourages collaboration, creative thinking and a sense of belonging, showing how each individual contribution is key to building a shared vision.

Lego® Team Building Activities: Building Teams, Forging Innovation

As well as our main activities, we offer Lego® team building workshops that are unique and rewarding. These activities are designed to challenge, inspire and bring participants together, whatever their technical experience. Here is more about some of these additional workshops:

1. COLLABORATIVE CHAIN REACTION

In this activity, each team works on one section of a huge chain reaction. The goal is for a marble to pass smoothly through every section. This challenge improves communication and coordination within the teams and encourages collaboration to reach a common goal.

This activity invites teams to literally “build” solutions, sparking in-depth discussions and generating innovative ideas in a fun and accessible way.

3. EGGSTRAORDINARY LEGO DROP CHALLENGE

In this exciting challenge, teams build a Lego structure to protect a chocolate egg during a two-metre drop. This activity encourages creativity and collaborative problem-solving, adding a touch of suspense and excitement.

4. LOGO BUILDER
